The upcoming international friendly tournament featuring Nigeria, Jordan, Iran, and Costa Rica has been relocated to Turkey. The decision, confirmed by the Jordan Football Association, comes after escalating conflicts in the Middle East made the original host city of Amman untenable.

Organisers were forced to find a new venue due to the ongoing volatility in the region, spurred by heightened tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel. The four-team competition, scheduled for the March international break, will now take place in the Mediterranean coastal city of Antalya.

“The Jordanian Football Association has decided to move the matches of the four-team international friendly tournament, scheduled for March 2026, to be held in the Turkish city of Antalya, due to the current situation in the region and the limited movement of people,” the governing body said via a statement on its official website.

The move ensures the participation of all four nations, including Iran, whose involvement had been clouded by uncertainty given the current geopolitical climate. The tournament is viewed as a crucial part of each team’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to the revised schedule released by the Jordanian FA, the tournament will kick off on Friday, March 27. Hosts Jordan are set to face Costa Rica, while in the other opening fixture, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will square off against Iran.
