Nigerian international defender Glory Ogbonna has rejoined Turkish Super League side Beşiktaş, the club announced marking her return to the Black Eagles after a one-year absence.
The Istanbul-based club confirmed the signing of the 27-year-old centre-back via an official statement on its website, noting that she has been brought in to strengthen the defensive line for the upcoming season.
Ogbonna, who previously played for Beşiktaş in 2023, spent the 2025/26 campaign with Israeli outfit Kiryat Gat following her departure from Turkey. Her familiarity with both the club and the Turkish women’s football landscape is expected to ease her reintegration.
The Nigeria international began her professional career in Sweden with Umeå IK before moving to Spain’s Santa Teresa Club Deportivo. She later had a stint with Turkish club ALG Spor prior to her initial arrival at Beşiktaş.
On the international stage, Ogbonna represented Nigeria at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cups in 2016 and 2018. She was also a member of the Super Falcons squad that clinched the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and was named in the country’s 23-player roster for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
