The Campaign for Social Justice and Constitutional Democracy (CSJCD), has called on the federal government to support female business entrepreneurs in the country.
Specifically, the group pointed out the contributions of businesswoman, Mrs Aisha Achimugu, to the development of the economy of the country.
The group’s president, Festus Ogwuche, noted that Nigeria ought to give massive support to such persons given the significant obstacles that they have overcome to become successful in Nigeria in the difficult times that the country is facing.
In a statement released yesterday, the group noted that although Achimugu currently faces some difficulties with the government over recent allegations, her achievements indicated that Nigeria had a bright future with her female entrepreneurs and thus should be commended, celebrated and supported.
“The achievements of females such as Aisha Achimugu, is an indication that Nigeria has many bright stars that the country should find ways of giving maximum support. Women face significant barriers in their quest towards achieving success in the business world that is male-dominated. For Aisha to have achieved such success at a relatively young age is a testimony to her doggedness and business acumen,” the statement said.
Achimugu has investments in many of Nigeria’s critical sectors—particularly infrastructure, maritime, and industrial development. Her diverse portfolio spans construction, engineering, port management, and logistics—sectors identified by policymakers as central to diversifying Nigeria’s economy away from oil dependence.
Through her leadership at Felak Concept Group, a diversified conglomerate with over a decade of operations, she has significantly contributed to Nigeria’s infrastructural renaissance. The company’s focus encompasses industrial parks, renewable energy projects, and urban development initiatives, all designed to foster sustainable growth and economic diversification.
The CSJCD president stated that rather than creating the impression of stifling her business under the guise of some questionable allegations, the government should ensure that she succeeds in providing jobs to the millions of Nigerians that are suffering today because of the country’s economic problems.
