Ekiti State Governor Biodun Abayomi has pleaded with the organised labour to support the incoming government of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in unifying the country and tackle insecurity, corruption and economic instability.
He also pleaded with the Nigerian workers to partner the government in the crusade for justice and fairness.
Oyebanji spoke yesterday in Ado Ekiti, the state capital at an event held to commemorate the 2023 International Workers’ Day held at the Ekiti Parapo pavilion.
He said hands must be on deck to halt the multifaceted challenges confronting the country.
The governor said, “I therefore call on the workers to join hands with the government to ensure that we enjoy a peaceful environment and socioeconomic stability through harmonious relationship with the government, especially as the nation is ushered into a new administration in a couple of days.
“As we head towards a new era in the history of our nation, let us imbibe the spirit of unity, cooperation and selflessness.”
“Let me appeal to organised labour to continue to sensitise the citizens and the federal government on the need to imbibe the spirit of fairness and equity in the distribution of national resources.
On the funds accruing to the state on monthly basis from the federal government, he said, “The position of Ekiti State as it pertains to the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) allocations is worrisome.
