Supporters Club, Cheerleaders Excite Fans As Bariga FC Wins Lagos Grassroot Tournament

Lagos witnessed an enthralling display of football finesse and entertainment at the final of the maiden edition of the 1BEX Football Tournament. The Bariga FC emerged victorious, claiming the top spot in a fiercely contested competition that ended in early December.

The tournament, sponsored by 1XBET, culminated in a captivating final held at the illustrious Mobolaji Johnson Arena situated at the Onikan Waterfront on Lagos Island. Bariga FC showcased exceptional skills and prowess, securing the coveted championship title.

The top three teams, Banga FC, Ighalo FC, and Young Strikers, finished first, second, and third, respectively. They were awarded cash prizes of ₦1 million, ₦500,000, and ₦300,000, respectively, recognizing their outstanding performances throughout the tournament.

The event was not just a football showcase but a spectacle of vibrant performances. The Supporters Club band and the energetic cheerleaders added an extra layer of excitement and dynamism to the proceedings. Their lively music, dance, and acrobatics resonated with the audience, keeping spirits high throughout the matches.

The emergence of cheerleaders in Nigeria and their exceptional performances left the spectators in awe, adding a new dimension of entertainment to the sporting event.

Furthermore, a special five-a-side exhibition match featuring Nigerian football legends provided a nostalgic trip down memory lane, captivating the audience with glimpses of the grand masters in their prime.

In line with IBEX’s commitment to positively engaging youth through entertainment, this football tournament aimed to unearth talent and foster societal betterment through sports.

Waidi Akanni, the head of Match International, expressed his satisfaction and excitement about the event. “I’m impressed, I was entertained. If I had to pay to watch these fantastic players, it would have been money well spent. I see future stars that will not only conquer Africa but the world at large,” he remarked, highlighting the incredible talent pool the tournament showcased.

Akanni also acknowledged the indispensable support of 1XBET, emphasising their collective goal to nurture and develop grassroots football.

The 1XBET Community Football Cup challenge, which commenced on October 3 across five conferences, saw the participation of 40 teams, indicating the wealth of talent and passion for football at the grassroots level.
