The Supreme Court of Nigeria on Tuesday, December 19th, reserved its judgments in two separate appeals challenging the election victory of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The appeals were filed by Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (Labour Party) and Azeez Adediran (Peoples Democratic Party) against the Court of Appeal’s verdicts upholding Sanwo-Olu’s election.

Both Rhodes-Vivour and Adediran challenged earlier rulings by the Lagos State Election Tribunal that dismissed their petitions alleging irregularities in Sanwo-Olu’s victory during the March 2023 gubernatorial election.

A five-judge panel led by Justice John Okoro informed the parties involved that judgment dates would be communicated in due course.

The court session was attended by prominent figures, including Lagos State Deputy Governor Femi Hamzat, Secretary to the State Government Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, and other senior officials.
