A middle-aged man, Jimoh Abdulquadri, has died in a police custody on Friday in Ilorin, Kwara State.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the man was detained at a police division’s headquarters for allegedly duping a complainant.

It was further gathered that the detention of the deceased followed a complaint lodged against him at a police station in Ilorin.

However, in a swift response to the development, the State Police Command said it has launched a discreet investigation into the matter.

The spokesperson of the Kwara State Police Command, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the development in a statement on Sunday.
