LEADERSHIP findings revealed that he was killed at about 2.30am, when the hoodlums attacked a student lodge at Ndakitabu area in Lapai.

It was learnt that Jafaru was stabbed on the neck and later rushed to the General Hospital Lapai by his fellow students where he was later confirmed dead.

Sequel to the development; it was further learnt that some students have barricaded Agaie-Lapai road, protesting against the incident.

When contacted the Niger State Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Wasiu Abiodun confirmed that “Today being 23rd June, 2025 at about 3am, information was received that at about 2.30am, some hoodlums attacked a student lodge at Ndakitabu area via Lapai. Police operatives of Lapai Div rushed to the scene, but the suspected robbers had escaped.”

“However, tactical teams of the Command have been dispatched to Lapai to ensure that normalcy is restored, while investigation into the unfortunate incident has commenced as the Commissioner of Police directed that the perpetrators of this heinous crime must be arrested and brought to book.”
Unconfirmed sources however hinted that the vigilantes in Lapai later accosted the hoodlums and killed one of them.

LEADERSHIP however recalled that the students’ lodges outside the campus have been under constant attacks by hoodlums who dispossessed them of their valuables in recent months but the incident yesterday turned out to be bloody.
