Suspected ritualists on Wednesday beheaded a 37-year-old man, Anthony Egbo, inside the Living Faith Church otherwise known as Winners Chapel, located at Elebele community in Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa State.
The victim, Anthony Egbo, was a security personnel attached to the church. LEADERSHIP Friday gathered that the assistant pastor of the church, discovered the mutilated corpse of the victim. “The head was severed from the body while the throat was missing,” he said.
The youth president of the Elebele Community, Comrade Famous Egbo, who spoke with LEADERSHIP Friday, confirmed that the corpse of the victim was discovered at about 5.50am.
“When people saw him, he was beheaded. His throat was missing. People suspected that it may be a ritual killing,” he said.
Also, the police public relations officer, Asinim Butswat, confirmed the killing but insisted that the report from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Kolo community stated that “the attack was at the head region and his throat was slit.”
Meanwhile, an unidentified vandal was electrocuted to death along the Osiri area of Yenagoa, the state capital. It was gathered that the burnt corpse of the vandal was discovered early on Wednesday morning hanging on the electric pole after electrocution.
