Imo State chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Charles Duruimo has dismissed claims of his sack by local government chairmen of the party.

Duruimo who was purportedly sacked by some executive members and zonal chairmen of NNPP recently, said he remains the authentic chairman of the party.

According to him, those who purportedly sacked him are members who were suspended for gross misconduct, adding that the national leadership just passed a vote of confidence on his leadership.

Duruimo said “I’m the authentic chairman of NNPP in Imo state, I urge other members including stakeholders to disregard my sack from the party. It’s the handiwork of Paul Abala, Dr. BMC Amadi, Hon. Blessing Ihenacho, Mr. Gozie Ekeogu, Mr. Peter Ugoji, Mr Tony Duru, Mr. Chigozie Ekechukwu, Mr. Kenneth Ogidi, Chief Nwosu Stan, and Mr. Obinna Hensil Ogunewe who were all suspended from the party for gross misconduct.

He further said  “Those suspended members are only trying to attract the attention of opposition parties for financial inducement towards the upcoming governorship election. I’m calling on the opposition parties to disregard their antics as they do not have any political value.”
