Tanker Explosion: Gov Nwifuru Donates Food Items, Cash Gift To Nwaji’s  Family

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has donated food items and the sum of N5million to the family of Mr. Jeremiah Nwaji who lost his life alongside the wife, children among others in the unfortunate UgwuOnyeama tanker explosion.

Governor Nwifuru said that he visited the family to commiserate with them and to assure them of the State Government’s commitment to support the family and help in alleviating their suffering as Mr Jeremiah Nwaji is the breadwinner of the family.

Governor Nwifuru represented by his wife, Mrs Uzoamaka Nwifuru said that the state government was pained by the ugly incident that claimed the lives of 11 victims of Abofia village in Ebonyi local government area of the state.

Mrs Nwifuru expressed profound grief over the heartbreaking incident, describing it as an irreplaceable loss not only to the family but also to the entire`the state.

They assured the bereaved family of their commitment to assisting them in every possible way to alleviate their pain.

The brother to the victim, Mr Ikechukwu  Nwaji  said his late brother and family met their untimely death on January 25, 2025 while returning for the burial of their late father who was later buried on January 30th.

Mr. Ikechukwu Nwaji appealed to the government to ban heavy-duty vehicles from the road in the daytime without hesitation and advocated that they should always ply at night to reduce such accidents.

Another member of the family, Mr Emeka Igwe  commended the state government for the visit and pleaded for their prayers in their bereaved moment.
