Executive Director, Operations and Technical, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Captain Warredi Enisuoh, has called on the people of the Niger Delta region to consider the economic potentials in carbon streaming, carbon credit and carbon capturing as an alternative source of income instead of engaging in pipeline vandalization and further degrading of the environment.

Enisuoh made the call yesterday at the Pre-Summit Conference of the First Pan-Ijaw Economic Summit held at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall in Yenagoa, when he spoke about the “infrastructure which could come from the carbon capture industry and protection of the already existing infrastructure”, with the assistance of the government.

He noted that the socio-economic problems cannot be removed from the security issues in the region, adding that capturing carbon can generate a lot of money for the communities so that they can take their taste bud off the crude oil pipeline which is damaging the environment, creating a reduction in life span and creating a situation whereby the environment is almost becoming inhabitable.
