Useni, a first time member of the House of Representatives, had during his two years executed 88 constituency projects ranging from roads, water, education, security, youths and women empowerment, provision of relief materials and provision of agricultural inputs.

Useni also within his first two years had sponsored and co-sponsored 10 bills at the National Assembly for the development of the area and Nigeria.

Commending the lawmaker, an elder statesman from Takum, Elder John Mamma, thanked Useni for giving priority to youth and women’s empowerment.

The elder statesman further said Useni’s investment in youth is most important not only to the federal constituency but also to Taraba State and Nigeria at large.

He said, “Useni recently facilitated enrollment of over 350 candidates across the 32 wards of Donga/Takum/Ussa federal constituency into the federal government technical and vocational training program (TVET), let’s assume the youths graduate and also become trainees within the area, the development would be massive.”

Also commenting on the development, the youth leader of Tiv Cultural and Social Association, Mr. Victor Salemga, who is from Donga, said Hon. Useni had executed projects that have connected Tiv and Jukun, who have been in crisis for years.

“Hon. Useni has provided boreholes. Our Tiv and Jukun women used to fetch water from there together across all the villages. Now, meeting points for the people are common. They are always together charting and making jokes. He has constructed classroom blocks. Both tribes have returned their children, and they are schooling together.

“He constructed roads between our villages that have open up the criminal hide outs, we are always meeting together whenever he is flagging off projects and we also do participate together with our Jukun brothers, therefore, we can simply said his projects are also promoting coexistence among the people, we are happy that once again, someone has remember us in the scheme of things,” Salemga stated

Prominent empowerments provided to the people recently by the member include the distribution of roofing zincs across the 32 wards of the constituency to cushion the effect of the herders-farmers crisis and the distribution of laptop computers to the students within the area.

Others include providing cash to women and youths to boost farming and businesses, distributing food and non-food items to victims of the Takum windstorm, distributing farm inputs and equipment to selected farmers in Donga, and training women and youths in self-reliance.
