The member representing Karim-Lamido II constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Mike Dio Jen, has announced his resignation as a member of the House in order to become the state’s Commissioner for Ministry of Tertiary Institutions.
Jen made his intention to resign as a lawmaker known shortly after his APPOINTMENT by Governor Agbu Kefas.
The Secretary to the State Government, Bar. Gibson Kataps, had on April 15, 2025, announced Governor KEFAS’ approval of the APPOINTMENT of Jen as commissioner.
Responding to the development, Hon. Jen expressed his readiness to resign as member of the State House of Assembly, stating that Governor Kefas was his political superior and he was ready to comply with his instructions.
“My appointment as Commissioner to head the Ministry for Tertiary Institutions is saddle with sadness and joy, especially in my Constituency.
“The Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas is my boss, whatever he says I should do, I will do it. Even if he tells me to go and help him as Councilor representing my Ward, in Karim Lamido Local Government, I will go.
“If the Governor sees anything good in me and he says assist me in this, I will not hesitate to do it.
“So, I am happy about it and I call on people to understand that in every country or sector, you have a leader. I am following what my leader told me to do for him.
“I will just relinquish the position of Member representing Karim-Lamido II State Constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly to create room for a by-election for somebody to emerge,” he added.
