The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) in Kano said they and the African Development Bank (AfDB) have distributed agricultural support packages to Project‑Affected Persons (PAPs) under the Mando–Rimin Zakara 330kV Quad Transmission Line Project.
TCN said the two‑day sensitisation and distribution exercise, held on June 25 and 26 at the Bayero University Kano New Campus, involved PAPs from Kiru, Rimin Gado, Kabo and Tofa local government areas.
According to the organisers, beneficiaries received improved maize and bean seedlings and fertiliser to boost crop productivity and support livelihood restoration.
Speaking on the intervention, the  assistant general manager, Transmission Services, TCN Kano Region, Ibrahim Aliyu,  said the transmission line was strategic for strengthening grid stability and improving electricity supply across the region.
He urged recipients to make effective use of the agricultural inputs and said those who had received full compensation should vacate the transmission line Right‑of‑Way (RoW).
Aliyu warned that continued occupation or construction within high‑voltage corridors could endanger lives and property, and he called on community leaders to support compliance with safety regulations.
TCN said the outreach combined information on project safeguards with direct livelihood support and reflected their commitment to stakeholder engagement, fair compensation and sustainable livelihood restoration.
Aliyu added that the bank‑supported measures were intended to accompany infrastructure development with responsible social safeguards.
