Special adviser to Abia State governor on basic and secondary education, Kenechukwu Nwosu has said teachers in the state must exhibit highest standards of professionalism to make impact..
Nwosu stated this in a chat with LEADERSHIP after a two-day orientation programme organised by the state government for newly recruited teachers in the state in Umuahia, the state capital.
He said the only way the teachers can reciprocate the kind gesture of the governor, Alex Otti to them is to ensure they make positive impacts as well as offer their pupils and students quality education.
“The government has set a standard in the education sector by declaring free and compulsivity primary and basic education to improve literacy level and enhance the development of the state,” he said
The adviser, who made it clear that the present administration in the state has zero tolerance for any forms of corruption in the sector, lauded the participants for their attendance.
Responding on behalf of others, Cyracuse Eze thanked the government for the opportunity given them to contribute their quota to the sector assuring that they will live up to their responsibilities.
It would be recalled that the administration is set on engaging no fewer than 9,000 teachers just as it as at last count formalised the recruitment of 5395.
