Tears and grief enveloped Ungwan Gwari, Kawo, Kaduna, on Wednesday as Galaxy Television cameraman Andrew Zangina was laid to rest in accordance with Christian rites.

Family members, friends, sympathisers and colleagues gathered to pay their final respects to the deceased.

Zangina was born in December 1979 and died on September 25, 2026, at the age of 47, leaving behind his wife and four children.

The deceased was remembered by friends and colleagues as a hardworking, jovial and cheerful person who maintained cordial relationships with those around him.

One of his colleagues, Bosan Yakusak, described him as more than a colleague, saying he was a friend, brother and confidant who remained loyal and dedicated during their 10 years of working together.

Yakusak said Zangina gave his best years to the service of others, describing him as dependable, diligent and ever cheerful, adding that the deceased was like family to those who had the privilege of working with him.

According to Yakusak, Zangina had in recent years battled health challenges, which he faced with courage, dignity and faith.

He added that Zangina spent virtually all he had in search of healing, expressing concern over the situation of his wife and children.

Yakusak appealed to the government, institutions and well-meaning Nigerians to support Zangina’s family, particularly through educational scholarships for his children, to help secure their future.

Another colleague, Micah Jaja, described late Zangina as hardworking and jovial, saying he was well-liked by friends and colleagues.
