Anara community in the Isiala Mbano local government area of Imo State has been thrown into mourning after 18-year-old Kasarachi Oduoma was crushed to death during a fight by a driver and two policemen.
Kasarachi, a tailoring apprentice, was standing at the busy Anara roundabout with two other colleagues to cross the road when a Camry driver lost control and hit her.

Locals said the yet-to-be identified driver was seen dragging the steering of his car with two policemen when he rammed into Kasarachi, who died on the spot.

An eyewitness, Chidiebube Okeoma, said the driver and the policemen immediately abandoned Kasarachi in a pool of her blood and took to their heels for fear of mob attack.

Kasarachi was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, a development that has thrown the area into mourning.

The Police spokesperson of Imo State Command, DSP Henry Okoye said, “If found wanting, the policemen involved will not be spared; they will face internal police measures for discipline and face the music.
