Terrorists’ Attack Foiled In Kebbi  

Security forces comprising military, Police, civil defence personnel and vigilantes have foiled an attack by the suspected terrorists who blocked the Wasagu-Ayu Road in Wasagu local government area of Kebbi State.

Military sources said that, based on the counterattack by the security forces, the terrorists fled and abandoned two motor cycles.

They said the troops, on credible intelligence, engaged the attackers in a fierce gun battle, which forced them to leave their two motorcycles.

The troops, however, pursued the fleeing terrorists along their escape route to prevent them from regrouping.

The sources added that the operation reflected the sustained offensive against terrorists and bandits in the North-West and pledged their commitment to protecting lives, securing major roads and dismantling criminal networks across Kebbi, other states in the North West and the country as a whole.
