Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have killed 10 hunters and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Kwapre Village of Hong local government area of Adamawa State.
The chairman of the local government area, Hon. Usman Wa’aganda, confirmed the killings to LEADERSHIP through telephone on Sunday in Yola, the State capital.
Wa’aganda said one person who sustained injuries inflicted by the suspected terrorists was receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
“Boko Haram insurgents killed 10 hunter yesterday (Saturday) in Kwapre.
“The village has been attacked many times where lives and property were lost,” he said.
Wa’aganda said the insurgents equally burnt down many houses and farm produce.
He called on the security agencies to deploy more personnel in the area.
He narrated that the attackers stormed the village around 4pm on Saturday and destroyed many houses.
According to sources, the Civilian JTF members were deployed from Hawul local government area of Borno State while the hunters were deployed from other local government areas of Adamawa State to complement the efforts of security agencies on ground fighting the insurgents.
