Niger Delta Youth Parliament (NDYP) , has declared Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, a “National Treasure” in recognition of his digital reforms and innovative leadership in public service.
The declaration came ahead of an official investiture ceremony scheduled for Friday in Delta State, where the minister will be formally honoured by the youth group.

, the group praised Tunji-Ojo for transforming the Ministry of Interior through technology-driven initiatives aimed at improving national security.
Key among the achievements cited were the deployment of E-gates at international airports, enhanced border management systems, and the establishment of a modern Command and Control Centre.
The group also commended the minister’s efforts in safeguarding critical national infrastructure and improving operational efficiency within internal security agencies.
“He has shown unmatched dedication to using digital solutions in addressing Nigeria’s security challenges,” the statement read.
The youths added that Tunji-Ojo’s leadership reflects a new standard of service delivery, one that combines innovation, accountability, and national interest.
Friday’s event will also recognise other public officials, including the Delta State Governor t, for his contributions to youth empowerment and digital advancement.
Organisers say the honours are meant to inspire more leaders to embrace forward-thinking strategies in governance and national development.
