Nigerian comedian and actor MC Lively has apologised to fans after his viral “wedding announcement” turned out to be a photoshoot rather than an actual trip to the altar.

Days after sending social media into a frenzy with romantic, bridal-themed photos, the comedian returned with a humorous explanation, admitting that the shoot had unintentionally led many to believe he was getting married.

Blaming celebrity stylist Benny’s Styling for the confusion, MC Lively joked:

“Na Benny’s Styling put me inside the problem.”

He added that the experience may have backfired on him.

“If I post my real wedding now, nobody will believe me.”

The comedian then set the record straight, revealing that the images were simply from a fashion shoot.

“Anyways, na photoshoot. Make everybody no vex. I’m just a model biko.”

Despite clearing the air, MC Lively admitted the experience had unexpectedly stirred a desire to settle down.

“But the shoot come dey make real marriage hungry me.”

His playful apology drew laughter from fans, many of whom said they genuinely believed wedding bells were around the corner after seeing the original photos. Others teased the comedian by saying he had become “the boy who cried wolf,” suggesting that when the real wedding eventually comes, people may think it is another prank.

The clarification has continued to generate humorous reactions online, with many praising MC Lively for turning the misunderstanding into another entertaining moment while reassuring fans that, for now, there is no wedding—only a successful photoshoot.
