‘There Was No Legal Marriage Between Us’, Olakunle Churchill Denies Divorce Claim By Rosy Meurer

Nigerian businessman Olakunle Churchill has dismissed reports alleging that he was divorced from his wife, Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer, describing the claims as false and misleading.

Churchill made the clarification in a statement shared via his Instagram page, where he also posted what appeared to be a court document titled “enrolment of judgment,” bearing both his name and that of Roseline Ufuoma Meurer.

“The reports circulating online about a supposed divorce between myself and Roseline Meurer are completely false,” he said. “There is no truth to them, and they should be treated as such.”

He further maintained that there was no legally recognised marriage between the two of them, arguing that the premise of a divorce was unfounded.

“There was no church wedding and no court wedding. What took place was an introduction. Therefore, the idea of a ‘divorce’ is baseless from the outset,” Churchill stated.

Questioning the legitimacy of the alleged legal process, Churchill said he was never formally served with any court documents.

“Any legitimate legal process requires that all parties be formally served and given the opportunity to respond. I was never served,” he added.

The businessman also raised concerns about the authenticity of the viral claims, querying how such documents were obtained and whether the reported timelines aligned with Nigeria’s legal procedures.

Beyond the divorce rumours, Churchill addressed his past relationship with Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh, with whom he shares a son.

His comments come amid recent sightings of the former couple spending time together with their son, King Andre.

In his statement, Churchill said he and Dikeh have resolved their differences.

“If Tonto offended anyone, it should be me alone and if I offended anyone, it should be Tonto. However, we have both chosen to forgive each other,” he said.

He added that their past issues were personal and should have remained private.

Churchill also addressed narratives suggesting that Meurer played a major role in supporting him during his disputes with Dikeh. While acknowledging that she faced public criticism at the time, he rejected what he described as an exaggerated portrayal of her role.

“I do not agree with the narrative that Rosy ‘stood by me’ in a way that should now be exaggerated,” he said, adding that issues in his past relationship were his responsibility to handle.

His statement followed a series of public comments by Meurer, who has also denied rumours surrounding their marriage, including claims that she unfollowed Churchill on Instagram.

She has equally denied allegations that she was once friends with Dikeh before marrying Churchill.
