The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday said the assertion by the All Progressives Congress (APC) that there is no vacancy in the Kogi State Government House is an illusion.
The PDP also said the statement displays APC’s fear of imminent defeat ahead of the November 11, 2023 Governorship election in the state.
The party also accused the APC leaders in Kogi State of squandering N2billion Kogi State palliative funds meant for the wellbeing of people of the state.
The national publicity secretary of PDP, Hon Debo Ologunagba said, “Such arrogant statement by the APC is a serious affront to the sovereignty and capacity of the people of Kogi State to freely elect their governor and further exposes the condescension and contempt to which the APC and its very unpopular and rejected candidate, Usman Ododo have for the people.”
Ologunagba claimed that APC is aware that Ododo is a weak candidate who has no chance of winning the election against PDP’s governorship candidate, Senator Dino Melaye.
Meanwhile, PDP has postponed the Imo Governorship Election Campaign flag-off. The party said it was postponed after a thorough consultation with stakeholders and PDP leaders.
The formal campaign flag-off for the November 11, 2023 Imo State governorship election, was earlier scheduled for Thursday, September 7, 2023.
“The postponement is in view of a national development that requires the full involvement of the Party including critical stakeholders from Imo State,” Ologunagba said in a statement.
