Thugs Attack Delegates At Ebonyi APC Councillorship Primary

The councillorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State held yesterday in the 171 wards of the state for the July 20 local government turned bloody with some members of the party injured by suspected thugs In Ezza North LGA.

In Ekka Ward, Ezza North local government, no fewer than 10 persons were injured by thugs suspected to be working for a party stalwart in the area, thereby disrupting the process and chasing delegates away from the venue.

 In a trending video on social media, some persons were seen with injuries, narrating their ordeals in the hands of the thugs.

One of them, Nwuna Chikodiri, said they were asked to choose who would be their councilor in Ekka ward and that they were doing the primary when thugs loyal to two prominent persons in the community; a commissioner and development center coordinator descended on them.

“The thugs gave many of us different injuries like this. It was Chikwado that hit me like this on the face. They used bottles and inflicted injuries on Emeka. So many people have been injured as I speak,” he stated.
