There was heavy security presence at the Kaduna State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday as the party commenced its primaries election amid heightened political tension.

Security operatives stationed at the entrance of the secretariat barred all persons from gaining access into the premises, insisting that nobody was allowed to enter the facility.

When our correspondent visited the venue, armed security personnel were seen maintaining strict surveillance around the secretariat, while party supporters and curious residents gathered at a distance.

The restriction created uncertainty around the area as many people who approached the gate were turned back by security officials on duty.

One of the operatives at the entrance told journalists that the measure was aimed at maintaining order and preventing any disruption during the exercise.

Vehicular movement around the area was also being monitored closely as security presence remained heavy around the complex at the time of filing this report.
