President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to open the 1st Zazzau National Education Trade and Investment Summit (ZANETIS) scheduled to commence from Friday, May 3 to May 12, 2024 in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, is the chief host of the event with the theme: “Consolidating on the gains of Democracy for Rapid Development in Education, Trade and Investment in Nigeria.”
It is being organized by ZAZCCIMA Investment Ltd in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (FMTI), Abuja, with the support of Zazzau Emirate Community Advancement Foundation (ZECAF).
The governor of Kaduna State Uba Sani is the special host while the Emir of Zazzau Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli is the royal father of the event.
The summit is described as a strategic initiative aimed at unlocking the untapped potential of Zazzau Emirate, Kaduna State and Nigeria.
While Zazzau Emirate has long been recognised as an educational hub, the region has been lagging behind in the areas of Trade and Industries, with limited commercial activities and inadequate Government and Private Investments.
According to Malam Yahaya Garba (Garkuwan Madakin Zazzau) of ZAZCCIMA Investment Limited, the summit further aims to showcase and promote vast opportunities in various sectors of “our economy, particularly those that hold significant potential for growth and development if effectively harnessed and processed.
“Specifically, the summit seeks t: showcase investment opportunities in agriculture and agro-allied activities. foster collaboration with leather research institutions to promote leather goods, provide a platform for stakeholders to explore and identify viable trade and investment opportunities, facilitate knowledge exchange and ideation, nurturing new business ventures and industries in zazzau emirate, Kaduna State and Nigeria.
“Capitalise on zazzau emirate’s concentration of higher learning institutions to bring to light hidden academic research findings, Student’s projects and innovations capable of attracting investments in education and other sectors of Nigerian economy,” he said.
As part of the activities marking the event, he said there will be a two-day seminar to address the declining standard of education in Kaduna State and Nigeria from primary, secondary school and institutions of higher learning.
