Protesters have called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and House of Representatives Speaker Hon. Abbas Tajudeen to intervene in a land dispute between OLUSCO Group and the Performing Musician Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN).

For the second time, demonstrators gathered at the disputed site, carrying placards and appealing to the Federal Government and the National Assembly leadership to step in before the situation escalates further.

Speaking to journalists, the Executive Director of Civil Right Advocacy, Comrade Okpanachi Jacob, and Innocent Ohalete, said the ongoing dispute has affected OLUSCO Group’s operations and stressed the need for urgent government intervention.

A petition submitted at the Police Headquarters in Abuja after the protest urged the President to direct relevant authorities to investigate issues surrounding the conflict and ensure that peace is restored.

Ohalete  called for the establishment of a panel to review events linked to the dispute, while appealing for protection of citizens and businesses involved.

According to Civil Right Advocacy, the disagreement stems from a memorandum of understanding reportedly signed between OLUSCO Group and PMAN regarding joint use of the land located along City Gate, beside the House on the Rock Church. The group said tensions heightened after the agreement broke down.

The protesters appealed for dialogue and mediation by government institutions to resolve the matter peacefully and prevent further disruption.
