President Bola Tinubu on Friday approved the appointment of new members into the management team of the FGN Power Company Limited.

A statement on Friday by presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, noted that the appointments are in recognition of the critical role of power supply in driving enterprise and industrial development as a part of comprehensive efforts to reform the power sector and ensure energy security for all Nigerians.

According to the statement, Kenny Osebi Anuwe has been reappointed by the president as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the company while Prof. Mamman Lawal retains his role as Company Secretary/Legal Advisor.

The statement also named Ebenezer Olawale Fapohunda as the Chief Technical Officer, Babatunde Daramola Oniru, Chief Commercial Officer and Julius Oyekola Olabiyi as the Chief Financial Officer.

“The President anticipates that with the full constitution of the management team, the FGN Power Company Limited will work assiduously to realize the core objectives of the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI) in close collaboration with Siemens Energy through a holistic overhaul, modernization, and expansion of the national grid and other critical measures to ensure the growth of the Nigeria Electricity Supply Industry (NESI),” the statement added.
