Tinubu Baking ‘New Cake’ For Nigerians, Says VP Shettima’s Wife

Wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima has described President Bola Tinubu as a visionary leader who is ‘baking a new cake’ for Nigerians.

Hajiya Shettima the cake is one that will benefit not just the present generation, but children and grandchildren yet to come.

Speaking in Maiduguri, Borno State, during an annual Ramadan feast attended by women groups, students, and community leaders, the wife of the Vice President praised the administration’s economic reforms, empowerment programmes, and investments across key sectors.

She said the administration was laying the foundation for a better and more prosperous Nigeria.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is baking a new cake for us that are alive today, and for the Nigerian children and grandchildren that are coming behind us,” she said. “He is ably supported by our lovely First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and they both mean well for this country.”

Hajiya Shettima in a statement by the Special Assistant to the President, Media & ICT, Office of the Vice President, Kwapchi Bata Hamman,

called on Nigerians to continue supporting the administration through prayers and constructive engagement.

She urged the citizens to move away from politically motivated criticism and instead, offer thoughtful suggestions that can guide policy.

“We should not forget him and his subordinates in our prayers,” she added, assuring that the President has the best interest of Borno and the entire country at heart.

She also lauded the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative, noting its impact on vulnerable groups including women, children, and people living with disabilities.

Also at the event, Director General of the Maryam Babangida Centre for Women Development, Dr Asabe Bashir, also urged the citizens to advance the spiritual discipline of Ramadan.

Dr Bashir also thanked President Tinubu for choosing his Vice President from Borno State.

“We must continue to pray for the administration of President Bola Tinubu because if it succeeds, we succeed,” she said.

Also speaking, Speaker of the Youth Assembly of Nigeria, Tijjani Abubakar, commended the President’s support for youth empowerment, while Dr Martins Ekunke who represented the South-South, Yoruba and Igbo communities in Borno, praised Senator Tinubu’s advocacy for people living with HIV/AIDS.

The event drew a wide array of attendees, including the wives of top Borno State legislators, female commissioners, political appointees, students, and community leaders who all united in their call for prayerful support for the Tinubu administration.
