Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore on Wednesday said that contrary to President Bola Tinubu’s media handlers, the president has flown to France again for medical care.
Sowore said it was troubling that approximately 200 million Nigerians might be repeatedly subjected to misinformation disseminated daily during the president’s absence.
Meanwhile, a statement by the presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, said President Tinubu will be on a short working visit to France starting yesterday.
It said during the visit, the President will appraise his administration’s mid-term performance and assess key milestones.
The statement read, “He will also use the retreat to review the progress of ongoing reforms and engage in strategic planning ahead of his administration’s second anniversary.
“This period of reflection will inform plans to deepen ongoing reforms and accelerate national development priorities in the coming year.
While away, Onanuga said President Tinubu will remain fully engaged with his team and continue to oversee governance activities.”
He will return to Nigeria in about a fortnight.
