Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said that President Bola Tinubu has transformed Abuja by providing first-class infrastructure to the Territory.

Wike made this known on Saturday after inspecting ongoing projects at Wassa and Gishiri communities in the FCT, which were slated for commissioning during Tinubu’s second-year anniversary. He stated that every resident of the Territory can attest to the fact that Abuja has truly changed.

He expressed satisfaction with the ongoing transformation occurring in the country under the present administration and stated that he was proud to be associated with President Tinubu’s leadership, as it aligned with what Nigeria needed.

“So we are happy for it. I want to thank God Almighty for providing the right leadership by Mr. President to deliver the dividends of democracy to the residents of Abuja.

“I do not see why anybody would claim that Mr. President has not performed well. Unless one is blind or unwilling to acknowledge something that is good. We are pleased that we have fulfilled the promises we made.

“What brings us joy is when the people are happy, because at the end of the day, we are working for them. I’ve said it before, leadership is a significant issue. When you have the right leadership, people benefit from it,” he said.

The minister stated that President Tinubu has demonstrated his commitment to change by bringing happiness to Nigerians and that indeed, the Renewed Home Agenda was working.

“While we moved from OSEX II to Wassa, you could see the spare parts traders and how happy they were each time we passed that road.

“I commend the contractor, CGC, for fulfilling their promise that these roads would be ready for inauguration during this second-year anniversary of Mr. President. The road has been completed, and they are merely marking it.

“Now, we have come to Gishiri. From that interchange, those of you who have joined us in supervising this road can see that the contractor has performed exceptionally well.

“The last time we visited, you could observe that they had not started asphalting this area, and they promised that the next time we returned, it would be a different situation.

“Today, we are here, and you can clearly see that it is different, meaning that before the end of the month, everything will have been concluded,” he added.

Regarding the list of projects to be commissioned during Tinubu’s second-year anniversary, Wike indicated that the FCTA would be able to provide detailed information on all the projects to be inaugurated next week.

“The Gishiri project is one of them, the OSEX to Wassa Junction is also one, and the International Conference Center is another. The M5, which is being carried out by Julius Berger, is yet another.

“We have numerous road projects, encompassing both satellite towns and the city. The Abuja Greater Water project will also be inaugurated. We have many projects lined up; it will take us about two weeks to inaugurate most of them,” he said.

The FCT minister further stated that they would provide water for satellite towns in Bwari, Karu, Kubwa, and other parts of the FCT.

“More road projects will continue in the city as well. More renovations of schools will be carried out in the city. Notably, security will be improved as that is what we owe the people of Abuja,” he affirmed.
