President Bola Tinubu has expressed admiration for the military’s sustained efforts in reducing crime and insecurity across the Northwest.
This statement came through the minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru, who visited the 17 Brigade in Katsina to assess the ongoing operations against banditry.
During his visit to the Katsina-Zamfara border town of Gurbin Baure, Badaru conveyed the president’s gratitude, acknowledging the progress the troops have made in curbing violence.
“President Tinubu is impressed by the strides you have taken to bring security to these areas. He is committed to ensuring you have all the resources necessary to complete the job,” Badaru said.
Badaru’s remarks highlighted recent operational successes on routes notorious for insecurity, such as Zaria-Gusau and Gusau-Jibia roads.
The defence minister noted that these areas have witnessed substantial improvements due to the military’s strategic deployments.
Accompanied by senior commanders, Badaru reiterated the president’s commitment to addressing security issues in the region, stating that, “The president stands ready to support the military in bringing lasting peace to the Northwest.”
