Vice President Kashim Shettima has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remained in regular contact with members of his administration throughout his recent overseas sojourn.

Shettima stated this on Saturday after meeting with Tinubu at the President’s Lagos residence.

According to him, advances in science and technology made it possible for the President to maintain effective leadership and remain abreast of developments in the country while abroad.

“We have been in regular contact throughout his sojourn abroad. Advances in science and technology have made it possible to really have impactful leadership wherever one might find himself,” Shettima said.

He disclosed that the President spoke with members of his team almost every other day, while receiving updates on developments across the country.

“So we have been in regular contact. We speak almost every other day, and we are updating him. We are updating him on developments in the nation, and we are happy he’s back on the beat,” the Vice President said.

Shettima said Tinubu was expected to continue taking decisions that would have an impact on the lives of Nigerians.

He also appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the administration, noting that the government was rolling out programmes and projects aimed at easing the difficulties being experienced by citizens.

He cited plans to launch e-logistics in the Northeast, including the deployment of 10,600 electric tricycles, as well as 300 buses and taxis.

The Vice President also highlighted the Nigeria Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, as part of the administration’s efforts to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

“The President has empathy, a lot of empathy for the common man,” Shettima said.

He added that while political activities were ongoing, the administration would continue to combine politics with governance.
