Tinubu, Kwara Gov, APC Guber Candidate, Emir, Others Celebrate Mutawali Alimi AbdulRazaq @ 70

President Bola Tinubu, Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly and All Progressives Congress( APC)  gubernatorial candidate, Engr. Yakubu Danladi- Salihu, Emir of Ilorin, Alh Ibrahim Sulu- Gambari and the national president of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union( IEDPU), Alh Abdulmumin Abdulmalik, led the pack of eminent personalities that rejoices with the Mutawalin Ilorin, Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq on his 70th birthday.

Alimi, a foremost lawyer, administrator educationist and elder brother of Governor AbdulRazaq clocked 70 on Friday, July 31,2026.

A special prayer was organised by aides, associates and the APC family to mark Alimi’s 70 birthday. The prayer was held at the AGF AbdulRazaq’s house, Surulere, Ilorin.

President Tinubu’s congratulatory message signed by his special adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga reads:

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu congratulates renowned legal luminary, elder statesman, and distinguished public servant, Dr Muhammed Alimi AbdulRazaq, the Mutawalin of Ilorin, on his 70th birthday, describing him as an accomplished legal practitioner, respected community leader, and patriotic Nigerian whose exemplary career has inspired many within and beyond the legal profession.

“President Tinubu notes  AbdulRazaq’s remarkable contributions to Nigeria’s legal profession and the country’s institutional development. As the pioneer Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), he laid a solid foundation for regulating Nigeria’s electricity industry, helping to shape reforms that continue to guide the nation’s power sector.

“The President also commends the celebrant’s enduring commitment to education as the Founder and Chairman of Bridge House College in Ikoyi, Lagos, which has been nurturing generations of young Nigerians for academic excellence, leadership, and responsible citizenship.

“The President equally acknowledges his invaluable contributions to corporate governance as a Non-Executive Director of First Bank Holdings Plc, where his wealth of experience and sound judgment continue to enrich one of Nigeria’s foremost financial institutions.

“As you celebrate this significant milestone, I salute your distinguished record of service to our nation, your steadfast commitment to justice, education, and institutional excellence, as well as your enduring legacy of leadership. Your contributions to Nigeria’s development remain worthy of commendation.

“I pray that Almighty Allah grant you many more years in good health, wisdom, and fulfilment as you continue to render invaluable service to our nation and humanity.”

The Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq also rejoiced with Dr. Alimi on  his 70th birthday anniversary.

The governor in a statement said Dr Alimi’s life is a fine study in hard work, resilience, excellence, and service to God, community, and humanity.

He commended Dr. Alimi for his Solomonic leadership, for being a true brother in every sense of the word, and for his fidelity to the values of the AbdulRazaq’s family and Ilorin as a community.

“Despite being a man of many firsts like our late father AGF AbdulRazaq SAN, Dr Alimi remains incredibly humble and gracious at every turn. It is the reason we all adore him,”the governor added.

He asked Allaah to uphold Dr. Alimi upon goodness, keep him steadfast as a conscientious Muslim and statesman, and ease his affairs with good health and happiness.

For his part, the speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and APC governorship candidate,  Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu hailed  Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq, describing him as one of Nigeria’s finest.

Danladi-Salihu described AbdulRazaq as a community leader, eminent lawyer, human capital development enthusiast and a successful businessman who has made remarkable contributions to nation building.

He  also praised Dr Alimi’s remarkable records in both private and public spheres where he served meritoriously, especially his significant contributions to community development that earned him the prestigious title of the Mutawali of Ilorin Emirate.

The APC governorship candidate joined  the family, friends and the good people of Ilorin Emirate in wishing the Mutawali of Ilorin a happy birthday filled with Allah’s endless mercy, blessings and guidance as he continues to serve humanity.
