Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality MOSIEND), has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over the appointment of an Ijaw son, Alabo Boma Iyaye, as the executive director, finance and administration in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
MOSIEND, in a statement made available to LEADERSHIP Friday in Port Harcourt yesterday, by its Eastern zonal chairman, Engr Ibiwari Dublin Green, applauded the appointment of Chief Tony Okocha as the member representing Rivers State in the board of the NDDC.
The statement reads in part: “As Chairman of the Eastern Zone, I would like to describe the choice of Chief Boma Iyaye to man the exalted position, as a visionary step by Mr President towards repositioning the NDDC to fulfill its aims and objectives.
“Chief Boma Iyaye is a man who has capacity, visions for transformation, selfless and an easy-going Ijaw leader who has always demonstrated his love for his people whenever he is called upon to serve.
“As MOSIENDees, we want to congratulate our leader, father, brother and son, erudite Chief Boma Iyayi, for his successful inauguration and resumption to office. We are proud of his doggedness and capacity. We are expecting nothing but service delivery as he has always done.
“In the same manner, we like to congratulate Chief Tony Okocha for his appointment and inauguration as the Rivers State representative in the Niger Delta Development Commission Board, NDDC.
“We believe Chief Tony Okocha‘s appointment is the will of God and a blessing to the people of Rivers State and the entire Niger Delta region.
“His astute administrative acumen will bring about unity, peace and progress for the state and Niger Delta people and Nigeria at large.
“We pray God to strengthen the duo and equip them with all that‘s needed for them to excel in the task ahead,“ he said.
