Founder/proprietor of proposed Citiedge University, Abuja, Chief Irukwu Onwuka has said President Bola Tinubu means well for Abia State, considering his record of achievements in the state within 18 months.
Onwuka made the remark, yesterday, after formalizing his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the state level at the APC secretariat in Umuahia, the capital.

He said the records include the establishment of the South East Development Commission, the flag-off of the construction of Abia Airport, Nsulu, and strategic federal appointments, among others.

The chairman/CEO of Citiedge Group, lauded the president for his recent approval of free train rides for Nigerians during the Christmas season, saying the gesture came at the most needed period.

He expressed satisfaction with the leadership of the APC at both national and the state level “for their support and great achievements in ensuring peace, harmony, and stability within the APC”.

“These are some of the reasons I decided to join the APC,” according to the one-time chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, Ward 1, Aba North local government area of the state.

He pledged his loyalty to the APC 2023 governorship candidate, High Chief Ikechi Emenike, the chairman, Dr Kingsley Ononogbu, the stakeholders, and the entire members “for welcoming me into their fold with open hands”.

“From here, I am going back to my ward and local government area chapters to continue to mobilize the members and to fish for new ones as it were because of the tasks ahead,” Onwuka added.

In a welcome speech, the chairman said the chapter’s doors remained “wide open for qualified and purpose-driven new members because we believe that the more we are, the merrier”.

He asserted that despite being in opposition in the state, the APC had continued to receive high caliber defectors from other political parties including the ruling Labour Party.

“This is an indication that there is something special about the APC,” noted Ononogbu, who later handed a bunch of broom, which is the APC’s symbol to the varsity founder/proprietor.

Similarly, the APC 2023 campaign director general, Chief Uche Ogboso urged Onwuka to be firmly rooted in the APC and ready to contribute meaningfully to its growth at all levels.

“APC has become the party to watch in the state. Since after the election, we have been receiving members from all walks of life. Having joined us, you’re welcome and fully accommodated,” he added.
