President Bola Tinubu has met with the chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Although the specific agenda of the meeting remains unknown, recent events may have influenced the meeting.
Just 24 hours ago, the Lagos office of the EFCC was barricaded by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).
LEADERSHIP gathered that the incident at the EFCC offices in Lagos was among the topics President Tinubu and Bawa addressed during their meeting.
Notably, Tinubu had promptly instructed the DSS to withdraw its personnel and vehicles from the EFCC offices in response to the confrontation.
He emphasised the need for a peaceful resolution to any misunderstandings between the two agencies.
According to a statement by Presidential spokesman Tunde Rahman, President Tinubu directed the Department of State Services to vacate the EFCC office in Ikoyi, Lagos, upon receiving reports of the DSS officials’ actions.
The president’s stance is centered on resolving any issues between these significant government agencies through amicable means.
