President Bola Tinubu on Thursday met with the nation’s top security chiefs at the State House, Abuja, for a comprehensive review of the country’s security situation and ongoing military operations aimed at tackling terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other emerging threats.

The high-level meeting, held at the President’s office, was part of the administration’s regular assessment of Nigeria’s security architecture, during which senior military commanders and intelligence chiefs briefed the President on developments across the country.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd); the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede; and the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu.

Others are: the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Lieutenant General Emmanuel Akomaye Undiandeye; the Special Adviser to the President on Homeland Security, Major General Adeyinka Famadewa; the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed; and the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi.

Although details of the discussions were not disclosed, the meeting highlighted the Tinubu administration’s continued focus on reviewing security operations and enhancing collaboration among security agencies to address the country’s security challenges.
