Stakeholders from the six states of the Niger Delta region and ex-militant leaders have commended President Bola Tinubu, the group chief executive officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Engr Mele Kyari and the Olu of Warri Kingdom, Ogiame Atuwatse the 111, for securing oil and gas infrastructure and war against oil theft in the region.

The stakeholders who made the commendation yesterday during a crucial meeting of members of the Pipeline Protection Task Force said that despite inheriting a shabby economy and poorly managed oil and gas infrastructure, Tinubu has harnessed the various security apparatus, the NNPCL, the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, and others to achieve victories against oil theft and pipeline vandalism.

Comrade Fiawei Pathfinder, also known as Osama, the national coordinator of the Anti-Pipeline Vandalism/Oil Theft and Illegal Bunkering Task Force Group, said the NNPCL’s strategy and modus operandi had yielded immense positive results. He noted that the nation’s crude oil production output has drastically increased daily, and the incessant issues of oil theft and pipeline vandalism have significantly been reduced.

Pathfinder said there is sanity, transparency and ease of doing business in the nation’s oil sector, adding that the Niger Delta region is now safe for the international oil companies (IOCs) to operate.

He said they have tirelessly dedicated their lives to fighting oil theft and pipeline vandalism in the creeks for sanity and have critically assessed President Tinubu’s policies and achievements within his one year in office, including the frantic efforts and commitment of the group chief executive officer of NNPCL, Engr Mele Kyari, in ensuring the activities of saboteurs are drastically reduced.

“As critical stakeholders who are committed to the spirit of nation-building and peaceful coexistence in the country, we hail President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the group chief executive officer, Engr Mele Kyari, for the enormous results achieved within this one year in the nation’s oil and gas sector”, he stated.
