Kano State Police Command has warned youths in the state against acts of vandalism and destruction of properties, saying, anyone caught in the act would be made to face the wrath of the law.
Deputy spokesman of the command, Hussaini Abdullahi, gave the warning in a statement following a viral video showing some individuals engaging in acts of vandalism and destruction of properties on the roads.
The video which has widely circulated on social media shows a group of youths destroying the campaign poster and billboard of President Bola Tinubu for re-election in 2027.
Abdullahi stated, “This unwarranted act is not only disrespectful but also criminal and constitutes security threats that will not be tolerated.
“The Police Command has commenced investigation and profiling of those behind this despicable act in a bid to cause them to face the full consequences of their actions.
“The command warns the public, especially youths, that any form of vandalism and destruction of property will be viewed seriously as the law will take its course, and those found culpable will be brought to justice.”
Abdullahi further quoted the police commissioner, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, as urging the members of the public to be law-abiding and stay away from acts that could cause breakdown of law and order and breach of peace. He assured of the command’s resolve to do everything possible to maintain law and order.
