President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, received the President of Madagascar, Michael Randrianirina, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, as both countries sought to strengthen diplomatic relations and cooperation.

President Randrianirina arrived at the State House Forecourt at about 2:57 p.m. for a courtesy visit and was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu.

Following a brief reception ceremony, the Madagascan leader was escorted to the President’s office, where he held a meeting with President Tinubu.

The visit is expected to further strengthen ties between Nigeria and Madagascar, with both countries continuing efforts to enhance cooperation and engagement on issues of mutual interest within Africa.

Nigeria and Madagascar have also maintained closer collaboration in areas aimed at promoting regional development, economic growth and continental integration.
