President Bola Tinubu, on Friday night, met with his Sierra Leonean counterpart, President Julius Maada Bio, at the State House, Abuja.
Bio, who arrived at the Presidential Villa at about 9:08pm, was received at the forecourt by a full row of presidential bagpipers from the Brigade of Guards before proceeding to the President’s office for a private meeting.
The discussions between both leaders took place behind closed doors and were believed to have centred on strengthening bilateral relations and regional cooperation within the West African sub-region.
Friday’s meeting comes four months after President Bio assumed the chairmanship of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, succeeding President Tinubu, who served in the position for two years before handing over in July 2025.
Details of the talks were yet to be made public as of press time.
