President Bola Tinubu has suspended the Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), Hajia Halima Shehu, due to alleged financial impropriety.
According to Channels Television, President Tinubu has immediately suspended Shehu and authorised her replacement.
Akindele Egbuwalo, the national N-Power programme manager, has been appointed as the acting replacement for Shehu until investigations are concluded.
LEADERSHIP recalls that the Senate confirmed Shehu’s appointment on October 18, 2023.
During her tenure as the National Coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme, Shehu utilised her banking and professional expertise to facilitate the digitalisation of the programme.
Before her role at NSIPA, she served at the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development from 2017 to 2022, bringing her expertise from the banking sector to her government service.
