President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has recorded a landslide victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential direct primaries in Gombe State, polling 450,517 votes to emerge overwhelmingly ahead of his challenger, Stanley Osifo, who secured no vote across the state’s 11 local government areas.

The result was announced on Saturday in Gombe by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, who served as the APC presidential primary collation officer in the state, shortly after casting his vote at Jekadafari Ward in Gombe.

Addressing the representatives of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), party officials and electoral observers during the collation exercise at APC square in Gombe, Governor Yahaya said the results had been received from local government collation officers and would be transmitted to Abuja for final aggregation and official declaration.

“This direct primary conducted for the presidential candidate has been collated here and will be transmitted to Abuja for final collation,” he said.

The governor announced that Tinubu swept all local government areas of the state, securing massive votes across the board.

In Akko Local Government Area, Tinubu polled 85,873 votes; Balanga recorded 23,307 votes; Billiri delivered 23,675 votes; Dukku gave 24,964 votes, while Funakaye contributed 22,761 votes.

Governor Yahaya said Gombe State recorded 450,517 votes cast from its registered voting strength of over 550,000 party members participating in the exercise. “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu scored 450,517 votes while Stanley Ocifo scored zero,” the governor said.
