Tinubu’s Reelection Not Negotiable, Says Eradiri

A former governorship candidate in Bayelsa State, Engr. Udengs Eradiri, has declared that the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 is “not negotiable,” insisting that opposition efforts to unseat him will fail.

Eradiri made the remark while leading the Door-to-Door Campaign for President Tinubu to monitor a presidential primary election in Ward 10, Agudama-Ekpetiama, Yenagoa Local Government Area.

He said the campaign team, which he said was founded by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, mobilised supporters to the exercise as part of efforts to consolidate grassroots backing for the President.

Addressing APC members who gathered for the primary election, Eradiri said opposition moves to truncate Tinubu’s tenure were “dead on arrival,” adding that the President’s economic reforms were beginning to yield results at the grassroots level.

“In the Door-to-Door Campaign, we believe firmly that the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not negotiable. Everything the opposition is doing against this President is dead on arrival,” he said.

Eradiri, a former President of the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) Worldwide and ex-Bayelsa State Commissioner for Youths and Environment, said a second term for Tinubu would enable him to consolidate reforms and deepen national development.

He argued that the turnout at the party’s primary election reflected growing support for the President and demonstrated the strength of internal democracy within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He also expressed confidence that the APC was well positioned for victory in 2027, noting that the party had shown readiness for leadership and electoral success.

Eradiri said the APC was not underestimating the opposition, but dismissed the chances of rival parties, including what he referred to as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing them as incapable of defeating President Tinubu.

“President Tinubu is tested and trusted and has shown the capacity and competence to take tough decisions necessary to turn around the fortunes of the country,” he said.

“You can see the growing organic support for the President because people know the truth despite the lies others peddle against him. They have also seen that there is no better alternative to President Tinubu.”

He added that the level of support demonstrated during the primary exercise showed confidence in the President’s leadership.

“Today is a testimony of the good work the President is doing. Even though we have a lot of qualified and competent persons in the party, none of them decided to participate in the process because they believe that this President is doing well and must get a second term,” he said.

Also speaking, the chairman of the APC in Yenagoa Local Government Area, Zikenah Tunks Coker, expressed confidence in the party’s prospects ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“Well, of course, we have an opposition. It is not a one-party system. But it is our duty as supporters of the party, APC, to ensure that APC comes victorious in Bayelsa State and in Yenagoa Local Government,” he said.
