Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms are already yielding positive results and laying a solid foundation for Nigeria’s long-term recovery despite current economic challenges.

Speaking at the opening of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) Retreat in Abuja, the governor described Tinubu as a courageous leader who chose to confront Nigeria’s long-standing economic problems through bold reforms that previous administrations avoided.

According to him, the reforms have begun to produce gains through improved fiscal discipline, renewed investor confidence and the gradual rebuilding of national institutions.

In a statement by his spokesperson, Ismaila Uba Misilli, on Wednesday, the governor urged members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to intensify grassroots mobilisation and public engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing the need to counter misinformation and communicate the achievements and objectives of the administration.

“We must never allow the opposition to define the narrative. Our job is to meet falsehood with facts, despair with data and cynicism with the undeniable evidence of progress,” he said.

He said many citizens were yet to fully appreciate the strategic vision behind the administration’s policies, stressing that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors would play a critical role in sustaining public engagement and consolidating support ahead of the 2027 elections.

“Nigeria is in a race against time as the 2027 general election is fast approaching. Mobilisation is the engine that will power our Renewed Hope Agenda to victory and beyond,” he stated.

Governor Yahaya explained that the retreat was designed as a platform for practical political planning, voter engagement and mobilisation rather than a routine gathering dominated by speeches and slogans.

Also speaking, APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, called on members of the movement to effectively communicate government policies and achievements to Nigerians, while , Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, urged members to strengthen grassroots mobilisation across the country.

Also speaking, Governor of Imo State and Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Senator Hope Uzodinma, stressed the importance of grassroots mobilisation, saying political success depends on organisation, structure and sustained engagement with the people.

“We must organise to win and not merely hope to win,” Uzodinma said.

He urged members of the movement to take the Renewed Hope message to all 774 local government areas, wards and polling units across the country, describing continuous engagement and feedback from citizens as vital to strengthening the connection between government policies and the everyday realities of Nigerians.

The retreat is expected to produce strategies aimed at boosting public support for President Tinubu’s reform agenda and strengthening APC structures ahead of the 2027 elections.
