The former Kogi State governorship aspirant and All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain has said the sweeping reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are already yielding measurable results.

He, therefore, urged Nigerians to generously re-elect the President in 2027 to consolidate what he described as bold and necessary economic restructuring.

Speaking during an appearance on TVC’s Beyond the Headlines, Alhaji Saidu Ugonoh said the current administration’s reform agenda, though challenging in its early phase, is gradually stabilising the nation’s economic fundamentals.

According to him, the trajectory set by President Tinubu under the Renewed Hope agenda offers a more realistic path to sustainable growth than what he termed opportunistic coalition politics.

Addressing issues bordering on the national polity, the Electoral Act and political dynamics shaping up the 2027 presidential election, the APC stalwart insisted that President Tinubu deserves a second term based on policy courage and strategic direction.

“If Mr President has taken us on this audacious reform route that is bearing fruits already, why listen to these fair-weather coalition politicians who seek to consign us to a path of continued economic potential but no realisation?”

He criticised elements of the opposition, describing them as politicians without ideological grounding.

“They move from one political party to another every four years. They form new political parties every four years,” he stated.

He further caution Nigerians against what he called a coalition of familiar faces in new political arrangements. Mentioning figures such as Peter Obi, Nasir El-Rufai, Rotimi Amaechi and Atiku Abubakar, Ugonoh argued that the emerging opposition alliance does not represent a credible alternative to the current administration.

“With due respect, these same politicians ganging up against President Tinubu have nothing new to offer but to constitute themselves as a bitter and vindictive opposition coalition group seeking to derail the necessary deep reforms and developmental strides of the President.”
