Governors, who attended the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) meeting in Abuja on Wednesday night, declined to issue a communiqué, fueling speculation about the agenda and outcome of the gathering.

The meeting, which began at 10pm and lasted an hour, was attended by 15 governors, including Alex Otti of Abia State, Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, and their counterparts from Plateau and Zamfara States.

Most of those present were members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In an unusual move, the governors refrained from briefing the media after the meeting and left one afte the other.

Credible sources, however, suggested that they failed to reach a consensus on President Bola Tinubu’s proposed tax reform bills currently before the National Assembly.
