Tiv Leaders To Build Skills Acquisition Centre In Kaduna

Kaduna State chapter of apex Tiv group, Mdzough U Tiv (MUT), has planned to build a multi-million naira skills acquisition centre to empower youths, women as its contribution to tackling the high unemployment rate and insecurity in the country.

This was disclosed at a fundraising for the building of Tiv Town Hall and Skill Acquisition and Investment Centre in Kaduna by the chairman of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Kaduna state chapter, Rachel Serumun Ugye.

He said to check insecurity ravaging the country, Nigerian youths must be empowered to be self-reliant.
Ugye said when the programme commences, all eligible applicants will be considered, noting that tailoring, soap making, food processing and storage, catering, computer repair and maintenance, carpentry and other skills will form part of the skills acquisition programme.

Also speaking, former public relations officer, Bank of Agriculture, Chief James Wayo, called on Tiv people to be united and avoid pull him down syndrome.
Wayo, who commended the Kaduna State Government for providing the conducive environment for businesses to drive, urged residents to support and team up with Governor El-Rufai to defeat criminals who are making life miserable for the masses.

In his address of welcome, President MUT Kaduna State chapter, David Chia, said when the Town Hall and skills acquisition centre project would be completed it would uplift many youths and women out of poverty and joblessness.
